High carbohydrate intake for prolonged endurance efforts

3Action Sports Nutrition developed Ultra Fuel Energy Drink for athletes performing efforts lasting longer than 2 to 3 hours and aiming for a high carbohydrate intake during exercise. The drink combines glucose and fructose in a 1:0.8 ratio, complemented with Palatinose™ and electrolytes.

Why Ultra Fuel Energy Drink?

  • High carbohydrate intake, scientifically supported. During intense exercise, the body can absorb a maximum of approximately 60g of glucose per hour through the intestine due to saturation of the glucose transporter. By combining glucose and fructose, absorption occurs through two separate transport pathways, allowing for a higher total carbohydrate intake. During efforts lasting 3 hours or more, well-trained endurance and ultra-endurance athletes often target 90 to 120g of carbohydrates per hour.
  • 1:0.8 carbohydrate ratio. Research suggests that this glucose-to-fructose ratio is beneficial for both absorption capacity and gastrointestinal tolerance when consuming high amounts of carbohydrates (>90g per hour).
  • With Palatinose™. This carbohydrate is digested more slowly than traditional sugars such as glucose and is naturally low glycaemic.
  • Neutral pH. Mild in taste and developed to help reduce gastrointestinal discomfort during exercise.
  • Produced in Belgium. Ultra Fuel is developed and manufactured at our own production facility in Belgium.

Electrolytes

During prolonged exercise, fluids and electrolytes are lost through sweat. Ultra Fuel Energy Drink naturally contains the following minerals per 100g of powder:

  • Sodium: 376 mg
  • Potassium: 323 mg
  • Magnesium: 65.3 mg
  • Calcium: 147 mg
  • Chloride: 585 mg

How do you use Ultra Fuel Energy Drink?

The Ultra Fuel Energy Drink is easy to prepare and dose according to your specific needs:

40g carbohydrates per serving: Mix 42g powder (2 scoops) with 500ml water. Ideal for shorter efforts or as a supplement to other foods.
80g carbohydrates per serving: Mix 84g powder (4 scoops) with 500ml water. Perfect for long-term efforts and high carbohydrate needs.

For optimal results, drink one bottle per hour during prolonged exercise.
